Llanwrtyd Wells in Mid Wales is the smallest town in Britain and is ideal for exploring the wild and broken plateau of Central Wales. The area is very popular with mountain bikers, walkers and bird watchers. Astride the river Irfon, Llanwrtyd Wells is tucked in the valley between the Cambrian Mountains and the Mynydd Epynt. Its fame, once built on the mineral springs, now ranges across cycling, mountain biking, bird-watching, pony trekking, hill walking, fishing, rallying, Welsh Language and Natural History Studies. The chief of many attractions is the variety of breath-taking scenery around the town, rolling hills and rugged mountains, spectacular passes and gentle valleys, open pastures and thick forest, trickling streams and gushing falls.
